hmm idk about that, I've seen many artists put themselves down when their art is like god tier or just really good! It makes me sad when they can't seem to see it or take some pride in their abilities. On the other hand, I get trying to be humble, cause nobody likes a bragger
I never vote on my own stuff willingly but sometimes since I use my phone it accidentally votes and taking it off is just such a burden that I move on, it's sad because since not many people see my stuff it kinds of puts bias on my scoring :(
oof yeah that happens to me too and then I try to unvote but I idk how to do that, so I end up leaving it too :') I agree it can put a bias on the scoring sadly

It's like the perfect balance of self-criticism, in my opinion (because as long that your art is very good, there's always something to improve about it). I'm not an artist, so, you know, there's not much that I can vote about myself, because I haven't posted anything, in first place, heh... but I don't see voting your own art as something bad. In fact, as long as you don't do it with always 5 stars because ''it's yours and it's perfect'' (and, well, with that kind of egocentric mentality) I see it as a valid way to critique yourself and your own art skills.

Aww, well I'm sure you've heard this before, but it's never too late to start drawing. Pencil, paper and some (LOTS) patience is all ya need, and then ya can work up from there! (Aaah sorry for the unsolicited advice, but I'd like for everyone to draw or try it, ya know?). Anyways yeah, I like to do 3 stars most of the time cause that seems most fair, if I feel really good on something I might treat myself lol
